What Is High Performance Car Tuning?

 "Car Tuning"

What is car tunig? Car tuning can be described as better accelaration, speed, torque and power.

Car tuning means better engine management, performance, reliability as well will last longer giving you power without hesitation whenever you need it. Most of the car these days comes with modern engine computers called “ECU’s”, which stand for (Engine Control Unit) that controls most of the electronic engine parts of the vehicle letting you know what could be right or wrong, and some of these alerts could be fuelling, timing, emission and other aspect of the car.

Since most of the vehicles are controlled by the (ECU) computer these days, there is not much you can do with the engine, but you can still do a few modifications by replacing or adding performance car parts that will increase the power of your engine, but always abide by the law of your state doing any modifications to your vehicle for street legal driving unless you are building a racing car for race track or off road. Before you try to do any changes in your car, make sure you get the right information from someone that has enough experience doing this, and can give you the right advice replacing any internal parts from your car before it gets very expensive and perhaps changing parts that you do not even need to replace to gain power in your car, or only if you know what you are doing.

Some of the most immediate changes that will gain more power from your engine, and will not cost you an arm and leg are described as follow:

  • Intake Manifold
  • Throttle body
  • High Performance Air Filter like K&N
  • Headers
  • Exhaust System
  • Ignition Kit

There is more you could do by touching the internal parts of the engine like changing cams, lifters, pistons etc., but only if you have experience doing it, or a shop on high performance car tuning because you could ended up with a lot of problems touching all the original parts or the vehicle.

Before replacing any key components of your engine, make sure you get all the details or information on what you want to do with your car; primarily if it is a modern machine that will require diagnostics tools to calibrate and read all the codes from the main brain computer if something goes wrong. There is plenty information online if you need to plan ahead about car tuning as well videos that could lead you in the right direction to replace performance car parts to gain more power from your car, here could be a good place to start.
